Validity of Selection
The candidate’s choice in relation to a specific batch is only valid for that batch. The right to automatic selection for the following batch will not be available to qualified applicants whose names do not appear on the final merit list. If such individuals match the prerequisites for the new batch, they will have to go through the selection process again, including the SMB (Special Medical Board).
Merit List
The FSB’s recommendation does not guarantee the choice in the end. Depending on the number of openings, a merit list will be created for the candidates who are medically fit based on their performance in Stage 1 (the screening exam) and Stage III (the FSB). Depending on the number of training positions open at training establishments, the number of openings may differ from branch to branch and will be decided at a later period.
The list of applicants who were chosen based on the merit list will be posted on the Coast Guard recruitment website in May 2024. Accordingly, joining letters will be sent out. Mid-June 2024 is when the training at INA, Ezhimala is expected to start.
